Switching case never changes the words, spacing or line breaks — only letter casing is rewritten, so paragraph structure survives.
Uppercasing uses Unicode case mapping, so é becomes É, ø becomes Ø and ç becomes Ç instead of being dropped.
Every letter is lowercased with Unicode mapping: CAFÉ becomes café and STRASSE stays strasse (lowercasing never contracts SS back to ß).
Small words kept lowercase in the middle of a title: a, an, and, as, at, but, by, for, in, nor, of, on, or, so, the, to, up, via, with, yet.
The text is lowercased first, then the first letter of the text and the first letter after every . ! or ? is capitalised.
Designed for text that arrived in ALL CAPS: every character is lowercased in one pass, including accented capitals.
Every lowercase letter is raised, including accented characters: straße becomes STRASSE and øre becomes ØRE.
