How the unicode text converter — 23 styles in one tool works

  1. Your text is converted into Unicode look-alike alphabets — mathematical bold, italic, script, fraktur, monospace, small caps, circled and squared characters.
  2. Nothing is an image or a font: the styling is encoded in the characters themselves, so it survives copy and paste into Instagram, TikTok, Discord and Word.
  3. A normalise mode converts styled Unicode back to plain ASCII when you need clean, searchable text again.

Rules and edge cases

  • 23 styles are generated at once from separate Unicode ranges: serif bold, italic and bold italic, sans-serif bold and italic, script and bold script, fraktur and bold fraktur, double-struck, monospace, small caps, superscript, subscript, circled and filled circled, squared and filled squared, fullwidth, spaced, strikethrough, underline and upside down.
  • Normalise mode reverses the process: styled letters map back to plain A–Z, a–z and 0–9, combining marks such as Zalgo diacritics, strikethrough and underline are stripped, and invisible padding characters are removed.
  • Coverage differs per range — superscript and subscript are missing several letters, and digits do not exist in every style, so those characters stay plain.
  • Nothing is an image or a font: the styling is encoded in the characters, so it survives copy and paste into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, Word and Figma.

Frequently asked questions

Why does styled Unicode sometimes show as empty boxes?

A box (tofu) means the receiving app's font has no glyph for that code point. Bold, italic and small caps render nearly everywhere; fraktur, double-struck and squared characters have thinner coverage on older Android and Windows versions.

Can I convert fancy Unicode back to normal text?

Yes. Switch to Normalise mode and paste the styled string — bold, script, fraktur, double-struck, circled, squared, small caps, superscript and subscript characters all map back to plain ASCII.

Is styled Unicode bad for accessibility?

Screen readers often read it character by character or skip it entirely, and search does not match it against the plain letters. Use it for decoration only, never for essential information.
